My oldest daughter Maelyn turned 10 years old...!
Her favorite thing in the entire world is New York City.
She is fascinated with it. She wants to live there. She wants to go to college there. She wants to be a doctor there.
I'm dumbfounded. Everyone has different tastes..but a city. Really? We live in California..! I don't know where this fascination came from.
Well, we decided to give her a New York Themed Party to encourage her love.
I had hardly anytime to plan it. It turned out cute though. Especially with help from this blog...!
Using my Cricut, I cut out a cityscape and an apple for the invites.
I went through so many ideas for this party on how to decorate.
I finally settled upon these colors.....
Centerpieces were just flowers in a vase with Taxi Cabs tied around with ribbon.
When we ordered from the New York City Webstore, they sent a map of New York City.
We put it up as decor.
The girls also made signs that said "I Heart New York" to put up everywhere.

Dessert was cupcakes with picks that I made from my Cricut cartridges.
We also had "New York Cheesecake."
The girls made "Liberty Torches" by dipping pretzel rods in yellow frosting.

The Frosted Street Sign Suckers were bought here.
We scattered these candies around the tables in the garage.
We had a Hot Dog Bar that included guacamole, condiments, pico de gallo, pickles, chili, nacho cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon, etc.
We also had Bagel Pizzas.
I also made a huge batch of Crinkle Cut French Fries...Ferry Fries...but I thought with all the condiments it would be easy for everyone to pile up cheese and chili and condiments on their Fries.
In the Goody Bags, we put these N.Y. Silly Bandz, N.Y. Pencils, Chocolates, pens that look like Lipstick from Dollar Tree.
I wasn't sure what little kids were coming...when our kids turn 10...we let them choose who comes to their party. This can be a bit stressful for me. Most people don't RSVP anymore. She handed them out at school. I ended up buying a few of these Taxi Cookies for little kids to take home.
They played a game where you have two teams and an apple under your chin and have to pass it to another person on your team without using your hands. It was a relay game.
They also played "Bob for Big Apples."
I bought this craft for the girls to also do.
My husband made this "Pin the Torch on Statue of Liberty."
The prizes were these chocolate bars.
Happy Birthday Sweetie...!
This looks hilarious...!
It was our Thank You Card.
When we were originally planning the party, I was going to go for a more sophisticated way....when we scrapped that idea, my daughter said she still wanted champagne glasses with Apple Cider.
They drank this while they performed on Broadway *Karoke* at the end.
I've had New York songs in my head...since planning the party...!
