Cupcake Date....!

So....I am a bit of a Food Network Junkie...! There's only a handful of channels that I watch on cable, and Food Network is probably top notch. One of our favorite shows is Cupcake Wars. Uh...I love it.
When a hometown bakery, Frosting Ink went on there to represent us....it was so neat...!
We had our whole family up in arms cheering. We decided that we had to try the Maple Bacon Cupcake that she made. Had too...! Noe asked me out on a Cupcake Date. Basically, there are a few bakeries in town that we have been wanting to try....so we set out to visit them...buy a goody or two and devour them. Good plan right?!
Right down the street from Frosting Ink was a bakery called The Cookie Jar that I have been wanting to try, but didn't know where it was...until that day...! We pulled over and grabbed some cookies. I promised her that I would be back on Sunday to buy some of her fabulous Cat In The Hat Cookies, we chatted about Sprinkles and we were on our way.
Gimme Some Sugar is a fancy shmancy bakery with top artists that went to culinary school and trained with talented people. Ya, I know...I should write a newspaper article on them with my writing talents. All kidding aside, I knew that I wanted to go there and see what types of flavors they had and techniques they use and learn a bit more about their bakery.
The last place that we went to was Cupcakes -N-Crema.
It hasn't been open too long and I wanted to see what flavors they offered. We also wanted to end there to grab a coffee to go with the taste testing...!
We took our goodies to the park to sample; the weather was too nice to eat inside.
I cleaned the table because I'm a weirdo like that and couldn't resist the temptations anymore.
We dug in...deep.
We shared....S'mores Cupcake, Maple Bacon Cupcake, Cookies and Cream Cupcake, and lastly the Elvis.
We also tasted tested some cookies we got along the way.
I must be really old or can't handle all that sugar...but 2 bites of each and I was ready for a nap. It felt like Thanksgiving...! They were delicious. My personal favorite was the Elvis. It was a Banana Cupcake with Peanut Butter Frosting and the Hard Shell Chocolate on top with Banana Chips. Mmmm...! Elvis would be proud.
It was a Fun Date...!
I just have no idea how the judges on Cupcakes Wars can taste test all them Cupcakes.
I had to unbutton my top button on my jeans...!

I love the idea of a cupcake date! Cheaper and quicker. And must more tasty!
