Making Shirts {More} Girlie

My daughter Carmendee is defintely a Tomboy. She's as close to another boy as we could possibly get. She loves to be in the dirt, loves to rough house, play with cars, watch Power Rangers and is a jean and T-shirt kind of gal.
I decided to make some of her shirts a little more girlie. They were just regular shirts. Some of them even from the boys section, her preference when I let her choose something.
The pictures aren't that fantastic, she was reluctant to take any pictures. She wanted to get back to playing with her dinosaur toys.

The sleeves were cut off.

Then slits were made in the back and tied together. They are actually straight, her shirt is just twisted.

I didn't like how this fit so baggy.
The only thing I cut were the sides and made slits. Then tied them together.

Much better fit!

A little halter top.
The neck and sleeves were cut.

The top part in the back was cut off as well. I left the shoulders, to tie them together.
They took less than 5 minutes to cut for each.
I think I'm gonna search through the other girls closets and see what shirts I can find!
Do you think I'm too old to wear a halter? What if I make one out of my World's Greatest Mom shirt?! {hehe}

*Idea from my Crafty Mama book.

Have you gotten any of the t-shirt makeover books? That's what some of these remind me of. I love to look at them in the stores, and imagine if I'm daring enough to wear some of them.

Cute! Sounds like my oldest daughter. She had a spider man birthday when she was 4. She's more into "girly" fashion now that she's almost 8, but still loves to get dirty in the mud and play with an occasional Hot Wheels car.
